圣殿骑士团（Knights Templar）的成员是真正的战士修士，他们愿以祈祷为盾、利剑为矛，为天国而战。
并非偶然的是，克莱尔沃的圣伯尔纳（St. Bernard of Clairvaux）—— 这位圣殿骑士团创立的精神推动者，据称也是《圣母颂》的作者。
《圣殿骑士之歌》有时也被称为《庄严圣母颂》（Solemn Salve）或《崇高古调》（Sublime Ancienne）。
据称其起源于一份在圣墓大教堂（Basilica of the Holy Sepulcher）发现的文献，该文献可追溯至 12 世纪 —— 彼时圣殿骑士团对这座教堂拥有直接影响力。

Le Chant des Templiers
Solemn intonation of the Salve ReginaLe Chant des Templiers (the song of the Templars) is a solemn intonation of the Salve Regina prayer. This hymn, so beloved by many saints, found strong devotees in the ranks of the Crusaders.
The Knights Templar, true warrior-monks, were ready to fight for the Kingdom of Heaven with both prayer and sword.It is not a simple coincidence that St. Bernard of Clairvaux, who was the inspirer of the foundation of the Knights Templar, was also the supposed author of the Salve Regina.Le Chant des Templiers is sometimes known as the Solemn Salve or Sublime Ancienne (Sublime and Ancient). It is purported to have originated from a text discovered in the Basilica of the Holy Sepulcher attributed to the 12th century when the Templar Knights had direct influence over that Basilica.
